The inaugural tour de Susquehanna - West Branch bicycle race was held on Sunday, July 16, 2006. Shortly after 8 am the starting horn sounded and the riders took off on the 21.5 mile course that led them through the towns of Glen Richey and Oshanter to Olanta where they turned back through Bloomington and Curwensville and along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River to Clearfield. Fifty-seven racers ranging in ages from 14 to 72 were registered for the event. The winner, Brett Baronak, crossed the finish line in 55:54 minutes.
